LJM Software Installer - Windows

Below is the latest release of the LabJack Modbus Driver (LJM) for Windows. LJM supports T-Series and Digit devices. For other devices see Software Installer Downloads.


There are three options for installing on Windows:

  1. Normal Installer (Below) - This is the best installation method for most people.

  2. Basic installer - This install just the driver. None of the applications, such as Kipling, are included.

  3. Example installer - Create a single installer that will deploy your code along with LJM.

Included Software Packages and Versions

The following software is included: LJLogM - Version: 1.09, LJStreamM - Version: 1.09, Kipling - Version: 3.4.6, LJM Library - Version: 1.2304, LJM Constants - Version: 2025.05.06.A
Also includes some UD device software: LJControlPanel - Version: 2.38, LJSelfUpgrade - Version: 1.33, LJLogUD - Version: 1.21, LJStreamUD - Version: 1.21, UD Library - Version: 3.53, Otero - Version: 1.56

Installation Instructions

  1. Microsoft .NET Framework: This installer requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. If it is not already installed, an internet connection will be required during installation. If internet is not available and the dependency has not been installed, there are two options for offline instaltion:

    1. Transfer the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 (Full Package) installer to the computer using a USB drive or other media and install it before installing the LJM installer.

    2. Use the Basic installer (above), which does not require .NET.

  2. Check the system requirements.

  3. Run the LabJack Windows Installer. This installs LJM and all dependencies. If you run into installation issues, see the Windows Installer Troubleshooting (App Note).

Removal Instructions (Uninstalling)

Use the Add or Remove Programs panel to uninstall the LabJack item.

Command Line Options

With the Jan 2026 Windows Installer release we have expanded support for Command Line options for the installer.

These are the options supported:

  • /minimal: This performs a minimal, driver-only installation.

  • /no-ud-apps: This prevents the installation of UD apps such as LJControlPanel and LJLogUD.

  • /no-ljm-apps: This prevents the installation of LJM apps such as Kipling and LJLogM.

  • /no-loggers: This prevents the installation of all logging software such as LJLogM and LJLogUD.

  • /S: Perform a silent installation.


Installation Instructions
